PDT helps build social capital, creating opportunities for sustained engagement in the arts, resulting in the formation of life paths. PDT mentors students beyond the studio, enabling them to thrive artistically, academically and as well rounded citizens..
PPAF annually sponsors Children’s Day at the SF War Memorial Opera House. 6,000+ children enjoy PDT’s multi-generational cast, featuring excerpts from our award-winning, DANCING ACROSS CULTURES. Performances are narrated and PDT offers teachers a study guide, to further enhance their students’ learning.
PDT offers "multicultural" assemblies and "diversity days" in public and private schools throughout the SF Bay Area. We work in direct partnerships with schools, classroom teachers and after school programs, offering unique enrichment opportunities. PDT creates workshops, programs, performances and curriculum consultations with: FAIS; IHS; CAIS; Town School; Convent of the Sacred Heart, Stuart Hall; GISSV*; Bay School*; and Serra School*.

One of our programs, DANCEOUT! provides low-cost and fully subsidized high-quality performing arts training and performances to underserved students, new immigrant populations and public audiences, ensuring that the arts remain accessible and affordable to all communities.
In addition to all of PDT’s educational programs, trainings, performances and outreach efforts across the region, dozens of other Bay Area cultural organizations call PPAC home, and use the facility for rehearsals, workshops and productions. They are integral to the PPAC family as they help provide a rich variety of high-quality arts experiences, innovative opportunities and important education resources for the community.
